Character INFORMATION
Name: Akira Udou
Age: 16? ( it isn't given in canon, but he's "underage" )
Canon: Air Gear
Point taken from canon: Around chapter 92

Personality: Akira is introduced as the leader of a crazystrong A-T team called Behemoth. Behemoth was a frillion members strong and had the reputation for crushing other teams. Akira also had earned the name Super Beast. With all of these intimidating titles you'd think that Akira was some kind of badass, right?

Well, that depends on how you define badass. Despite his longest, and first appearance, in Air Gear being as this Super Beast figure, that's pretty atypical for his behaviour. Akira isn't a leader, he's a follower. He's able to lead, but it puts a lot of stress on him and he takes it very seriously. Super seriously, even. While he was the leader of Behemoth his personality really closed down, he didn't really smile and his speech was filled with metaphors about hating birds and beasts with long fangs.

Underneath it all, though, Akira is really just a big dork. He likes to have fun, and he's kind of simple minded. He's the brawn part of a brain and brawn team. Akira's the kind of guy who if you tell him to jump, he'll do it and maybe think about it later. He's also a nice guy though, and feels bad about things like crying girls.

In some ways, Akira is an average dude. He sticks up for his friends, he likes to not work overtime, and has a pretty good sense of humor. On the other hand, he's also got a pretty special world view. Akira is someone who works very well near opposing forces. His boss is a volatile man who likes to shoot and whip people as means of communication and Akira is more than perfectly happy with his job. ( He doesn't beg to be beaten, or claim to like it, but he is much more of a complete person when he's working under the gun, so to speak ) When left to his own devices Akira's a little lost. You could say Akira's defining trait is unreasonable loyalty.

History: Here is the wiki, but it looks a bit sparse so I'll try to fill in.

Back in the day, Akira was part of a special SWAT team that specialized in the control of A-T ( Air-Treck ). His best friend was Wanijima Agito and his boss was Wanijima Kaito and it was a fun bang up job. Quite literally. Except one day Akira makes a mistake and takes down a guy who he thought was going to attack a girl. Whoops, turns out that guy was her brother.

This starts a chain of reactions, most of which are Akira falling in love with Ren Fah ( the girl ) and pulling away from his job/Agito. The end reaction of this is Ren Fah revealing that she was using Akira to get at a rare A-T piece -- the Fang Regalia, which Agito had. Instead of ditching Ren Fah like a sensible guy, Akira stood by her and fought Agito for the Regalia.

This results in a win for Akira ( it's heavily implied Agito threw the fight, but who knows ) and the forming of Behemoth. Simca gives Akira ( and Behemoth ) the task of being a sort of quality control for teams trying to move up the rankings. Which works really well for a while! Until Minami Ikki and his team Kogarasumaru ( which Agito is on ) come by for a challenge. Ikki's team wins, Agito gets the regalia back and Akira is "arrested" by his former boss. And by "arrested" we mean Akira basically gets rehired.

Persona Type: Akira's strength. If he were in P3 his arcana would probably be Strength or the Tower. His 'battle aura'/'shadow' is represented as either a lion or this crazy huge beast thing.

First-person Sample: Woah. Hey. I'm really sorry about that. I mean, yeah I was going to have to arrest you anyway. But the whole car breaking thing was an accident. If you hadn't decided to bolt out like that, I wouldn't have ... right. Enough talking, you're under arrest!

Third-person Sample: It wasn't that Akira couldn't drive. He didn't have his license, maybe, but it was hard to argue with Kaito. Even other police didn't want to argue with Kaito. Really, the problem had nothing to do with driving, Akira's ability to drive or the car ( he did wonder if their department was just too cheap for sirens, or if Kaito had shot them off one day ). It was really that instead of saying "Turn left!" Kaito tended to shoot one of those rubber bullets he was so fond of at Akira's face while he was driving.

"Kaito-san, I think we should talk about this." Akira started. He really meant to breech the subject delicately. Perhaps bring up how it's much harder to steer when you've let go of the wheel in shock to put a hand over the stinging welt on your face. Or mention how it's hard to see the road when a bullet bounces off your cheek.

Of course, Akira knew, Kaito wasn't very big on the seeing from other people's perspectives thing. It was one of his shortcomings. Akira usually didn't have a whole lot to complain about, but every now and then he wondered if his boss could use some therapy. Or, like right now, a hearing aid.

"Kaito-san," he tried again.
